HEADING INTO WYOMING GAME, DON PELLUM DISCUSSES IMPROVEMENT OF OREGON DEFENSE – Communication and Tackling Cited as Areas of Improvement

First year defensive coordinator Don Pellum was extremely measured this week when discussing Oregon’s defensive unit and the areas of improvement he’s seen from week one to week two.

In fact, when listening to Pellum during his weekly press briefing, you’d think the No. 2 Ducks had lost their game against now No. 13 Michigan State.

“In the first half we had a lot of opportunities to make plays and we didn’t make them,” Pellum said when asked about Saturday’s performance against Michigan State.

“In the second half, we made them. I think we just went in the locker room and refocused and regrouped and guys were playing a little harder, a little smarter. I think that was the difference that everyone saw from the sidelines and the stands. Suddenly it looks a lot better, but I think we just played better.”

With a much improved Wyoming team coming into Autzen Stadium Saturday, Pellum spent a few moments this week talking about Oregon’s 46-27 win over the Spartans and discussed how to prevent a let down when facing the Cowboys.
