FALL CAMP 2014 – BYRON MARSHALL FINDS MOTIVATION FROM LOSING – The Junior Tailback Looks to Remove The Sour Taste of Losing From the 2013 Season

While the 2013 football season ended with a 30-7 win over the Texas Longhorns in the Valero Alamo Bowl, the season didn’t quite go exactly as planned.

The Ducks lost two extremely disappointing games, ( one to Stanford and the other to Arizona ) and it’s those two nagging defeats that seems to have lit a fire under junior running back Byron Marshall.

“Losing” explained Marshall when asked about his motivation for the 2014 season.

“losing….not even really losing necessarily,…just last season didn’t go the way we wanted it…whether we won or lost, it didn’t really matter.  There’s just a lot of things we need to fix even in the wins or losses so everyone’s eager to go back out there and get that bitter taste out of our mouths.”

Marshall, who found himself pestered with nagging injuries throughout 2013, say’s he’s feeling good and 100% healthy as he heads into the upcoming season which begins against South Dakota on Saturday August 30th.  ( Autzen Stadium )

“A lot” said Marshall on Saturday when asked about how much better he’s feeling this year.

“I feel like I know the offense way better.   I’ve been working a lot harder this year.  Everyone’s a lot more motivated so it kind of just encourages everyone to work a lot harder.”
