Spring Game 2014 – MARCUS MARIOTA DISCUSSES SPRING GAME – Praises Offensive Coordinator Scott Frost for Consistent Improvement
Although he played just three offensive series in Saturday’s annual spring football game, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota looked to be in top form after a four month reprieve of organized college football. Mariota threw two touchdown passes, ( one for 22 yards and one for 45 yards ) and was 6 of 7 for 100 yards on the day as he led his Olive Green ( Team Mariasu ) to a 27-7 win over Team Twifo. “I think this spring one of the focal points for me was footwork” explained Mariota when asked about his progress in these 15 spring workouts.
“I think Coach Frost has done a really good job with me,…I’m not saying my footwork is perfect now but it’s something I can continue to work on. Through this whole process with Coach Frost I think the one big takeaway for me was that you kind of have to throw with your feet and a lot of the bad throws,…a lot of the inconsistent throws that I had last year were because my feet not being in the right place and not standing in the right way.”
