Word to the wise, never doubt Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti when he imparts what very well could have been a far-reaching story.
At Friday’s Valero Alamo Bowl press conference, Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti told reporters he decided to retire after last years Fiesta Bowl win and to validate that fact, he pinched some field turf at mid-field of Glendale Stadium to remember his teams win and final game as a coach.
To corroborate that morsel of information, Aliotti told reporters he’d prove his account by showing anyone and everyone his baggy of artificial turf – which he did when the press conference concluded.
“When the game was over, I went out to the middle of the field, grabbed some turf, put it in a plastic bag, …and it’s still in my briefcase” explained Aliotti.
