On Wednesday, Oregon held its final full contact practice session before the team breaks for the holiday and reconvenes in San Antonio on Christmas day to continue preparations for the Texas Longhorns in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
Before the team reconvenes in San Antonio however, players are free to travel home for the Christmas holiday to spend a few short days with their families.
In the case of Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, he met with reporters after Wednesday’s practice session and said he’s taking advantage of the short time off to head home to Hawaii on Sunday before flying to San Antonio on Christmas eve.
“I think we head out Sunday” explained Mariota when asked about his holiday travel plans.
“We fly out Christmas eve,…it’s kind of quick, but at least I get to be at home.”
