Oregon runningback De’Anthony Thomas said his right ankle remained sore Monday morning, however he said the ankles improving and is hopeful to return Saturday when Washington State travels to Autzen Stadium to take on the No. 2 Ducks.
Although Thomas remains out of his walking boot and did attend Monday’s workout session, the junior tailback said he didn’t participate in practice to continue getting the ankle healthy.
“I’m just not ready for it yet,’’ Thomas said on Monday.
“I’m trying to recover and trying to get to how I was before the season started.’’
Thomas has remained out of action since he sprained his ankle against Cal on September 28th.
Although Thomas was in uniform Saturday in Seattle and warmed up for the game against the Huskies, Thomas said he knew he wasn’t going to play.
“I wasn’t close at all. At all,’’ Thomas said when asked about the Husky game.
