At Tuesday’s post practice interviews, it wasn’t hard to miss the excitement in the eyes of some of the Oregon players as the Ducks game with Nicholls State nears on August 31st in Autzen Stadium.
It’s like going to the zoo and seeing a caged lion.
He may look calm and tranquil in his controlled surroundings, but you know if you let him out he’ll most certainly destroy his prey.
It was that feeling after Tuesday’s practice. You can absolutely see this team is ready to hit someone other than themselves.
To a man when asked, each Oregon player said they were ready to play now.
“The guys are tired of hitting each other” said Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota. “We’re really excited. We want to bust out these last couple days of camp and go out there and let loose.”
Although Nicholls State doesn’t necessarily pose a significant threat to the No. 3 ranked Ducks, the anticipation to put on the pads for real is most certainly there.
“It can’t come any faster” said Mariota. “We’re really excited. We feel like we’ve put in a lot of work this year. We just want to go out and show that on the field.”
