JAMES SCALES DISMISSED FROM TEAM; Helfrich Dismisses Sophomore Safety for Violating Team Rules

In a statement released by the University of Oregon football office, redshirt sophomore James Scales has been dismissed from the football program for violating team rules.

The statement was released late Saturday afternoon providing little information only saying Scales, from Greensboro, N.C has been dismissed from the football program by new head coach Mark Helfrich.

Scales, a three star defensive back out of Northern Guilford High School ( Greensboro, N.C. ), redshirted his first season ( 2010 ) in Eugene and worked exclusively on the scout team.

In the last two seasons, the 5’10, 185 lb safety, played in just 10 games and recorded 12 tackles.

During the 2012 season, Scales saw action in 7 games and had 3 solo tackles with 3 assists.
